Why I don't exercise ...

1) My clothes might fit better. I'd have more energy. 2) The Doctor would stop nagging me. Might lower my blood pressure and cholesterol. 3) The Pharmacist might forget my name 4) I need more excuses ... my wife wants me to walk with her.

What's your take on it ?

Habits That Will Hurt Your Back - Part One

Is there a right a right way and a wrong way to pick something up? You can prove it to yourself. Get a gallon of milk or a liter bottle of some beverage. Hold your elbow next to your body. Then pick up the container keeping your elbow next to your body. It is fairly easy to do. Now extend your arm all the way out and try to pick up the same container. Which way is easier to lift the container?

Every hear someone say … well I just reached into the back of my truck to get something out and felt this pain in my back. That is because the person over-reached (even if object was just 5 pounds) and stressed their back. May not happen the first time but it will eventually agitate your back. So think about sliding the object closer to where you are. Then you can pick it up with your elbows next to your body. The same thing can happen trying to get something out of the trunk of your car or rear of your SUV.

Do you know of someone that severely hurt their back this way?
